What is Bar Citizen International (BCI)?

Bar Citizen International (BCI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering the Star Citizen community. Our mission is to make hosting Bar Citizen events easier, more enjoyable, and more impactful for coordinators worldwide.

Our Purpose

Born from the efforts of veteran event organizers, BCI was created to address the challenges that coordinators face. We provide tools, resources, and documentation that simplify event planning, allowing organizers to focus on what truly matters: building connections and growing the community.

Why We Exist

As Star Citizen and Squadron 42 move closer to release, the community is preparing for a surge of new Bar Citizens. BCI is here to ensure both new and veteran coordinators have the support they need to welcome players, run successful meetups, and strengthen the global community.

BCI Hosts the Bar Citizen® community booth at CitizenCon to highlight the people, passion, and purpose behind the gatherings that unite citizens around the world.

Coordinate Bar CitizenCon Week to Expand the CitizenCon Experience.

Organize a week-long series of Bar Citizen® events surrounding CitizenCon that welcomes traveling backers and CIG staff to connect, celebrate, and make memories beyond the main event.

Nonprofit Status

Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization recognized by the IRS. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Organization

BCI is organized around purpose. There are two main groups: Staff and Coordinators.
Staff are the team members who manage the following:

Organization, finances, legalities, social media, the Regional Discords (and/or other future social platforms), the website, branding, merch, etc.
Coordinators are those who coordinate local and regional events.
